Volusia County Motocross Facility

Volusia County Motocross Facility

Volusia County is considering the development of a substantial Volusia County motocross facility near the renowned “World Center of Racing.” Positioned on a 65-acre plot just off Tomoka Farms Road, west of Port Orange, this proposal is currently in the phase of gathering community feedback through meetings. County Councilman Don Dempsey, who initiated the idea, emphasized the need for a dedicated motocross space in the region, noting the absence of any such venues for young enthusiasts to ride dirt bikes. Proposed features include a long course, a short course, ample parking, and RV accommodations, with the facility expected to host practices and events year-round. Although the project’s construction might cost up to $10 million, it promises significant economic benefits over the coming decades. However, local residents express concerns about noise, traffic safety, and the impact on their tranquil rural lifestyle. We’ll have to wait and see if the Volusia County motocross facility happens or not.
